Master Changan Motors Limited (MCML), Pakistan’s fourth-largest automaker and the top new entrant, continues to shake up the local automotive market with its aggressive product strategy and focus on new-energy mobility. The company appears to be gearing up for its next big launch: the Changan UNI-S, recently spotted online in leaked images.
Premium Design and Versatile Powertrains
Early glimpses suggest the UNI-S could become a key player in Pakistan’s C-SUV segment. The model is expected to feature multiple powertrain options, including Hybrid, ICE, and Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), reflecting Master Changan’s flexible approach to evolving consumer needs.

The vehicle’s premium styling and strong road presence indicate that it is aimed at combining modern aesthetics with advanced technology, making it attractive for urban and long-distance driving.
Hybrid Technology and Efficiency
Global updates from Changan have highlighted the Blue Core Super Hybrid Technology, designed for high efficiency in real-world conditions. Industry sources suggest that the UNI-S could incorporate this system, achieving fuel efficiency of 25–28 km per litre, translating into competitive running costs for daily use.

At the core of the hybrid setup is the iDE-H (Intelligent Deep Electrification Hybrid Architecture), featuring a P1 + P3 dual-motor system. This setup allows:
- Electric-first driving in city conditions
- Engine-as-generator mode when needed
- Seamless transitions to direct or parallel drive at higher speeds
- Efficient energy recovery during coasting
Master Changan’s Vision
CEO Danial Malik has promised to deliver vehicles across ICE, HEV, PHEV, and REEV platforms, catering to diverse customer requirements. The UNI-S embodies this vision, combining modern design, hybrid technology, and flexible mobility solutions, reinforcing Master Changan’s leadership in both conventional and new-energy segments in Pakistan.
