Chelsea came from behind to beat Real Betis 4-1 in the UEFA Conference League final on Wednesday. With this win, Chelsea became the first football club in Europe to win all four major UEFA trophies.
The match was held at Wroclaw Stadium in Poland. Chelsea’s manager, Enzo Maresca, led the team to their first big trophy since new owners, led by Todd Boehly, took over in 2022.
Real Betis started strong with Abde Ezzalzouli scoring in the 9th minute after a mistake by Chelsea’s Malo Gusto. Betis controlled much of the game in the first half, with their captain Isco guiding the play. Chelsea had trouble creating good chances early on.

In the second half, Chelsea made some changes. Captain Reece James came on to replace Gusto, and Betis replaced the injured Ezzalzouli. Chelsea’s Cole Palmer played a key role in turning the game around.
Palmer helped set up Chelsea’s first goal, scored by Enzo Fernandez in the 65th minute. Then Palmer assisted Nicolas Jackson to make it 2-1. Substitute Jadon Sancho scored the third goal in the 83rd minute, and Moises Caicedo added a fourth late in the game.
This win breaks a long streak where Spanish teams always won major finals against teams from other countries. Chelsea is now the only club to have won the Champions League, Europa League, Conference League, and the old Cup Winners’ Cup.
The fans created a lively atmosphere in Wroclaw, with many Betis supporters. Unfortunately, some fights broke out between fans, and police made 28 arrests.
