China to Complete Construction of Trade Corridor for West
According to a plan announced by the country’s National Development and Reform Commission, China wants to essentially complete development of an inexpensive, efficient, easy, environmentally friendly, and secure land-sea commerce corridor for its western regions by 2025. (NDRC).

The completion of the corridor will greatly increase the transport capacity of three major routes connecting regions in western China to ports on the Beibu Gulf in southern China.
According to the proposal, the corridor’s west route will be substantially finished by 2025, at which time its center route will also be more competent and its east route will be upgraded further.
In the meantime, road bottlenecks will be efficiently resolved, and the transportation capacity of the corridor’s arteries, with trains as the backbone and high-quality motorways as supplements, will be significantly boosted.

By 2025, an economic structure featuring the land-sea trade corridor will begin to take shape, with the digital economy and financial services playing crucial roles, according to the plan, which also notes that cooperation systems along the corridor will be more mature, while the opening-up level will be evidently raised and the development of industrial parks will yield notable results.
