Chinese Company to Form Hydropower Plant of 82MW in Chitral
Sinohydro of China will soon construct a $200 million river-run hydropower facility in Chitral, KP province, to generate roughly 82 MWs and 380 GWh of clean energy annually.

Sinohydro, a hydropower behemoth from China, and the Pakistani Sachal Group will carry out the hydropower project Turtonas-Uzghor through Uzghor Hydropower Pvt. Ltd.
But, according to the sources, the project location is situated on the Golen Gol River, a branch of the Mastuj River, in the north district of Chitral, around five kilometres away from the already-existing 108MWs Golen Gol HPP.

Chitral is close to Pakistan’s Gilgit-Baltistan province, which also has a border with China.
Also, it is predicted that this project will be finished four years following the start of the civil works.
Together with the feasibility analysis and financial proposal for this project, the PPIB—the Private Power Infrastructure Board—has already given its approval to the project design.
