Chinese smartphone brand Realme has announced that it will fully merge into Oppo and operate as its sub-brand. The move is aimed at simplifying internal operations, sharing resources, and reducing overall costs.

Both Realme and Oppo are already part of the same parent company, BBK Electronics, but this decision will bring the two brands even closer. By integrating with Oppo, Realme plans to improve efficiency in key areas such as research and development, supply chain management, and product design.

According to Realme, the merger will allow the brand to benefit from Oppo’s larger infrastructure, advanced technology, and industry experience. This is expected to help improve product quality and speed up innovation. Despite the integration, Realme will continue to sell its own smartphones and serve customers under its existing brand name.

Realme has gained strong popularity in markets such as Pakistan, India, Southeast Asia, and parts of Europe, where it is known for offering feature-rich smartphones at affordable prices. With Oppo’s backing, the company hopes to further strengthen its position in these regions and expand its reach.

BBK Electronics, which also owns Vivo, is one of the world’s largest smartphone groups. The closer alignment between Realme and Oppo reflects BBK’s strategy to stay competitive in the global smartphone market by reducing internal overlap and improving operational efficiency.

Industry observers say the move could help both brands respond better to rising competition and changing market conditions, while continuing to offer value-driven smartphones to consumers.
