CM Favors New Organizational Structure of Health Directorate
Peshawar: To improve the working capacity of the health department and ensure effectiveness in administrative and operational issues of health service delivery outlets, Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has authorized a new organizational structure for the Directorate General of Health Services.

In addition to minor adjustments to some of the administrative posts in the office of the Director General of Health Services, the new organizational structure will see the posting of additional directors general at the regional level and deputy directors at the divisional level.
The existing structure of the Directorate General Health Services has been expanded to include the new positions of Additional Director General South, Additional Director General Center, Additional Director General Hazara, and Additional Director General Malakand.
By assuring effective monitoring of these healthcare facilities, boosting their day-to-day management, and increasing their capacities to the necessary level, the regional and division level structure aims to improve the delivery of health services in healthcare facilities at the district level.

In order to ensure that local residents have access to primary and secondary healthcare services and to lessen the burden on tertiary care hospitals, the chief minister instructed the officials to give special attention to bolstering the healthcare system at the grassroots level.
