CM Gandapur Unveils Residential Plots for Families of Fallen Police Officers

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Ali Amin Gandapur announced that the families of martyred police officers and other government employees who died in the line of duty will receive residential plots in various housing schemes.

The Housing Department’s first meeting was held on Wednesday at the Chief Minister’s House in Peshawar. In this meeting, CM Gandapur instructed the pertinent authorities to compile information on the heirs of martyred police officers and government employees. Also, he asked them to make the processes required for the allocation. A number of high-ranking officials were present at the meeting. These include Director General Provincial Housing Authority Imran Wazir, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Amjad Ali Khan, Secretary Housing Dr. Ambar Ali Khan, and Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Housing Amjad Ali Khan. 

The KPK government will use the balloting method to assign 500 plots inside various housing developments to the heirs, according to CM Gandapur’s announcement. In addition, he asked the authorities to accelerate the development of residential flats around the province and ongoing housing initiatives. In order to meet the province’s housing demands, he promoted the Public-Private Partnership model. Also, he highlights the significance of making cabinet decisions on land provision for housing societies and finding appropriate sites in districts. 

Also, CM Gandapur demanded the quick creation of an Assets Management Company in order to ensure the effective use of government lands and to increase the province’s earnings. All essential departments will have representatives in this company. 

CM Gandapur made public the government’s intention to provide the impoverished and middle class with cheap housing by announcing that loans for home building would be made available. The new fiscal year’s budget has Rs 3 billion set aside specifically for this purpose. 

During the briefing, it was revealed that seven housing projects, totaling an estimated Rs 46 billion in cost, are currently under construction. Five programs totaling Rs 4 billion under the Annual Development Program are operating. Eight additional housing projects totaling Rs 88 billion have been proposed in the province’s several districts.
