Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, during her media talk in London on Sunday, said that she never took revenge from her political opponents and credited recent political developments to what she described as “karma” and “nature’s justice.” She said her party had faced years of political victimisation, but time eventually turned the situation in their favour.
Maryam Nawaz said that public sentiment shifted every time Nawaz Sharif appeared before the people, adding that the political atmosphere in the country naturally changed with his presence. She also expressed deep respect for former prime minister Benazir Bhutto and questioned why the judiciary did not raise concerns when cases and sentences were issued against her and her family in the past.
The chief minister again repeated her allegation that the former PTI government relied on sorcery and occult practices, saying that the previous administration operated through “unusual influences” rather than democratic principles.
Speaking about national security, Maryam Nawaz said the appointment of the Field Marshal as the Chief of Defence Forces was a strong and timely decision. She praised Field Marshal Asim Munir, saying no one else could match him for this role. She claimed that he had shown remarkable leadership and credited him with Pakistan’s “victory” and enhanced global respect in what she described as the country’s war against India.
Her remarks sparked fresh political debate, especially regarding her comments on judicial accountability, past political victimisation, and national security leadership.
