As reported by senior PML-N leader and advisor to the Prime Minister, Rana Sanaullah, Pakistan is all set to raise the issue of Kashmir along with alleging weaponisation of water by India during a likely meeting between Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir and former US President Donald Trump. Speaking on SAMAA TV’s Nadeem Malik Live, Sanaullah stated the importance of the meeting in diplomatic terms, adding that the engagement was to see Pakistan’s understanding gained on the urgent regional issues with US. He warned that India’s actions preventing water flow could be termed as war and the international community, especially the US, should clearly sound off on such tactics. The meeting, he noted, would also advance the dialogue around a peaceful resolution to Jammu and Kashmir. While details of the meeting are awaited on the official front, Sanaullah said that bilateral trade, water security, and peace in the region are expected to be some of the topics on the agenda. Sticking to the firm Pakistan stance on Kashmir, he added that the subject was not negotiable and has to be central to any longer-term strategy for peace in the region. He added that the United States, whether directly or indirectly, has a critical role in preventing future instability caused by India’s unilateral decisions.
