Commissioner Wants Work on Daducha Dam Accelerated
Commissioner for Rawalpindi Syed Gulzar Hussain Shah requested the Small Dam Organization to take action to address the issues of locals whose land had been taken for the Daducha Dam’s development.

He also gave the appropriate officials instructions to speed up the dam construction.
The commissioner claimed that countries were investigating solutions to the lack of water, which had become a worldwide issue. In the previous 50 years, the amount of water available per person has quadrupled in Pakistan, one of the most affected nations, he claimed.
According to claims, building Daducha and other tiny dams will save the annual loss of millions of cubic metres of water due to flooding.

Officials from the Minor Dams Organization stated at a briefing on the Daducha Dam that construction was ongoing and that overall physical progress stood at 16 percent.
The dam is located 25 kilometres from Rawalpindi. The dam has a budget of Rs6.49 billion, and after it is built, it would have a gross storage capacity of 60,000 acres feet.
The project will be completed in 30 weeks. Also a popular tourist destination is the dam.

According to the commissioner, groundwater levels are currently declining as a result of an increased reliance on groundwater for drinking, industry, and agriculture.
