Committee Issuing Height NOC from KMC Fire Department
News reports state that the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has appointed a six-person committee to create regulations for the fire department issue of a no-objection certificate (NOC) for the construction of high-rise buildings in Karachi.

The aforementioned development was brought about by the Sindh High Court’s (SHC) directives, which made it necessary for all high-rise buildings in Karachi to get a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the fire department before construction. All commercial, residential, and mixed-use buildings fall under this category.
The committee’s duties include creating bylaws for the issue of NOC in accordance with firefighting regulations and industry best practises. Also, it will be accountable for creating a uniform policy for getting the Height NOC from the KMC fire department.

The committee will be in charge of developing a plan while taking the project’s technical and construction aspects into consideration, creating bylaws in accordance with international firefighting standards, creating a uniform policy for the height NOCs issued by the KMC fire department, and choosing a fee for these NOCs.
All high-rise structures need to be required to have safety features like fire exits so that an emergency doesn’t result in a chaotic situation.
