The Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) is expected to complete road construction on the flyovers and underpasses of the Rs. 14 billion Kutchery Chowk remodelling project before Eid-ul-Fitr.

Meanwhile, the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has begun beautification work at the site, and the installation of lighting on the flyovers and underpasses is also in progress.

A technical team from the National Engineering Services Pakistan (Nespak) recently visited the project site to review its progress and examine the technical aspects of the development. During the visit, the team conducted a detailed inspection of various components of the Kutchery Chowk remodelling scheme.

The team also assessed the expected traffic flow after the project’s completion to evaluate how it would help reduce congestion in the area. Officials reviewed the quality control measures in place and expressed satisfaction with the work completed so far.

The movement of heavy vehicles was also examined, especially the ability of e-buses to navigate U-turns in the area. Based on the assessment, some design adjustments were suggested.

FWO officials informed the team that the project timeline is being carefully monitored while maintaining all required technical standards. They added that around 70 percent of the work has already been completed, and asphalt work has begun.

Executive Engineer Punjab Highways Rana Qamar Ali Saqib said the Kutchery Chowk project is expected to be completed by April 30, with most of the construction already finished.
