Construction Work Starts on Islamabad’s 7th Avenue Interchange
Islamabad: According to news reports, Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan officially broke ground for the building of the 7th Avenue Interchange and the renovation of I.J.P Road.
CDA chose to purchase these road projects as a result of the federal government’s decision to award contracts to government bodies without circulating tenders. The Frontier Works Organization of the Ministry of Defense will complete both projects (FWO). The other organisation negotiating to carry out the project was the National Logistics Cell (NLC).

At the intersection of 7th Avenue and the Srinagar Highway in Aabpara, the 7th Avenue Interchange, which will cost PKR 1.5 billion to construct, will be constructed. Given that the project is in a delicate area, CDA chose to work with FWO to hasten its completion. Traffic congestion will be lessened thanks to the interchange.
There has been more information made public, including the revelation that the intersection of 7th Avenue, Garden Avenue, the Srinagar Highway, and Khayaban-i-Soharwardi would feature a cloverleaf interchange with four right and left loops. The two portions of Khayaban-i-Soharwardi will also be connected by an underpass that will be constructed.

Moreover, I.J. P Road construction has begun. Three flyovers and two more lanes will be built as part of the road repair project, which is expected to cost PKR 6 billion. The PC-I of the road was approved by the Central Development Working Party (CDWP), and it is anticipated to be finished in 18 months.
