Consultant for Karachi’s Red Line BRT Project Appointed
According to news reports, Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah has declared that the civil work for the 26-kilometer-long Red Line bus rapid transit (BRT) project will be contracted out next week, along with the appointment of the project’s consultant. With the aid of the World Bank, the Red Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project will commence between Airport and Numaish.

Minister Shah made these remarks while presiding over a meeting, where he also revealed that a similar endeavor is underway for the Yellow Line Project, which stretches for 21 kilometers from Korangi to Numaish.
In this regard, the minister authorized authorities to select Yellow line BRT contractors and consultants. At the meeting were Transport Minister Awais Qadir Shah, Karachi Administrator Murtaza Wahab, Transport Secretary Shariq Ahmed, and others.

In a separate development, Mari Petroleum Company Ltd (MPCL) CEO Fahim Hyder met with Chief Minister Murad and presented a PKR 3,123 billion check for the development of the Ghotki district. As part of its petroleum bonus and social duty to the district, MPCL provided the donation.
