Lahore Corps Commander Lieutenant General Fayyaz Hussain Shah on Tuesday highlighted the significance of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, stating it demonstrated the courage and professional excellence of both the Pakistani nation and its armed forces. Speaking during a special session at the University of the Punjab (PU), he emphasized how the operation served as a global example of Pakistan’s strength and resilience.
Addressing faculty members and students, Lieutenant General Shah reflected on the recent conflict with India, noting that the unity, faith, and discipline of the Pakistani people played a key role in achieving a historic victory. He stressed that these core values continue to define the spirit of the country.
During his visit, the corps commander viewed student-created artwork themed on Marka-e-Haq and commended the young artists for their patriotic expression. He also acknowledged the University of the Punjab as a symbol of educational heritage and described his visit to the country’s oldest university as a privilege. Paying homage to educators, he referred to teachers as the true architects of the nation.
Lieutenant General Shah also underscored the increasing importance of modern knowledge and information technology in modern warfare. He urged the youth to equip themselves with contemporary skills to play a vital role in the nation’s progress and security.
He concluded by expressing optimism in the younger generation, stating that they are the torchbearers of Pakistan’s future and must unite to build a safer and stronger homeland.
