CPEC Western Route Reaching Fast Completion
Islamabad: According to news reports, the chairman of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority, Lt. General (retired) Asim Saleem Bajwa, said that construction on the CPEC Western route is underway and is being done on a priority basis.

The 55-kilometer first package will be finished first, beginning at Yarik in Dera Ismail Khan and going all the way to Rehmani Khel. Additionally, he stated that work had already begun on the Zhob-Quetta and Hoshab-Awaran sectors.
Also, he claimed that the motorway generally runs through deserted areas, thus approximately 150,000 trees have been planted alongside the road.

He gave specifics, stating that the 540-kilometer Yarak-Zhob-Quetta road crossing will reduce the distance between Islamabad and Quetta to just 830 kilometers and the journey duration to eight hours.
The 146-kilometer Hoshab-Awaran road, he added, will enhance connection to the Gwadar port.
He also mentioned that National Logistics Company (NLC) finished building the highway’s infrastructure while taking into account international standards. Additionally, he noted that 850 kilometers of the 1,100 kilometers of roads that are being built as part of the CPEC have already been completed.

Speaking about the overall status of the CPEC projects, the Authority’s representative stated that they will advance even more quickly in the upcoming years to further solidify the bilateral ties between Pakistan and China.
