Crackdown on Gas Theft 254 Illegal Connections Cut in Punjab, KP, and Islamabad; Rs. 2.65 Million Fine Imposed

Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has intensified its crackdown on gas theft, disconnecting 254 illegal connections in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and Islamabad. As part of the operation, the company has imposed fines totaling Rs 2.65 million on violators.

Major Actions Taken by SNGPL

In its latest enforcement drive, SNGPL’s regional teams took decisive action against unauthorized gas usage:

  • Lahore: 81 illegal gas connections were disconnected, with Rs 0.81 million in fines imposed.
  • Faisalabad: 29 illegal connections were cut off, and fines worth Rs 0.26 million were issued.
  • Sheikhupura: 7 disconnections were made, leading to Rs 0.31 million in penalties.
  • Multan: The team removed 45 illegal connections and cut off 24 more due to compressor use.
  • Bahawalpur: 9 illegal gas connections were severed, while 53 were disconnected for unauthorized compressor usage.
  • Gujranwala: 1 illegal connection was disconnected, with fines of Rs 0.25 million imposed.
  • Sahiwal: 5 gas thieves faced disconnection, leading to penalties of Rs 1.03 million.

SNGPL’s Commitment to Preventing Gas Theft

SNGPL remains committed to curbing gas theft and unauthorized usage, ensuring that legal consumers receive uninterrupted gas supply. The company has been actively pursuing offenders, imposing strict penalties to deter future violations.
