Football legend Cristiano Ronaldo is making headlines once again—this time in the virtual battleground of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. Marking his debut in the fighting game genre, Ronaldo is set to appear as a playable character in SNK’s highly anticipated title, launching 24 April 2025.
Known globally for his explosive speed, iconic “Siuuu” celebration, and five Ballon d’Or wins, Ronaldo brings a unique football-fueled combat style to the Fatal Fury franchise, one of the most iconic names in 1990s arcade history. This marks the first new entry in the series in over two decades, reigniting nostalgia among fans while introducing next-gen flair.
Ronaldo enters the fray in his signature No.7 kit and captain’s armband, wielding a blazing blue football as his primary weapon. His move set combines football strikes with martial arts finesse, and naturally, victorious matches are punctuated with his signature “Siuuu” roar.
“We wanted to redefine the boundaries of our game universe,” said an SNK spokesperson. “Ronaldo isn’t just a sports icon—he’s the world’s No.1 influencer. Integrating him into Fatal Fury helps elevate our title to a global stage.”
Set in the gritty streets of South Town, Ronaldo’s character lore positions him as a footballer seeking new training during his downtime—adding a fresh twist to the Fatal Fury universe. He joins a roster of 15 unique fighters, bridging the world of sports and combat.
Backed by Saudi Arabia’s Misk Foundation, SNK’s strategic move reflects the Kingdom’s expanding investments in digital entertainment. Ronaldo, currently playing for Al Nassr, continues to extend his influence across new industries—including gaming.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will be available on all major platforms starting April 24, and early access buzz already positions it as one of 2025’s most anticipated titles.
