Karachi: According to a news source, the caretaker chief minister of Sindh Maqbool Baqar praised the Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) for its exceptional fiscal success, displaying a noteworthy 22% gain compared to a similar period in 2022 (Dec 2022).
The figures show that in December 2023, this amount corresponds to a record revenue collection of PKR 21.3 billion. In the first half of the fiscal year 2023–24, the SRB has accumulated PKR 108.6 billion in total.

This represents a noteworthy 35% increase over the PKR 80.2 billion received during the same period in the previous fiscal year, underscoring the SRB’s steadfast dedication to fiscal efficiency despite difficult economic circumstances.
CM Baqar emphasized the tireless efforts of the SRB officers and personnel and credited the exceptional result to the taxpayers’ ongoing faith and cooperation. The SRB is committed to reaching its designated revenue target of PKR 235 billion for the fiscal year 2023–24, notwithstanding unfavorable circumstances like slow economic development, decreased economic activity, and a stagnating tax base.
