Bollywood veteran Dharmendra was discharged from Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on Wednesday morning, with his family confirming that he will continue treatment at home.
The 89-year-old actor, who has been under observation for the past few weeks, was released around 7:30 am, according to Dr. Pratit Samdani. “Dharmendra ji was discharged from the hospital this morning. He will continue treatment at home as per the family’s decision,” Dr. Samdani told Indian media.
The news of his discharge comes after days of confusion and false reports about the actor’s health. Earlier this week, rumors spread online claiming that Dharmendra had passed away, prompting immediate clarification from his family.
His wife, Hema Malini, and daughter, Esha Deol, reassured fans through social media posts that the veteran actor was alive and recovering well. “My father is stable and recovering. We request privacy and thank everyone for their prayers,” Esha Deol wrote.
During his hospital stay, Dharmendra was surrounded by his family, including his sons Sunny and Bobby Deol, daughter Esha Deol, and nephew Abhay Deol. Several Bollywood stars, including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, and Gauri Spratt, also visited the actor to express their support and affection.
Dharmendra, one of Hindi cinema’s most iconic and beloved stars, has been receiving continuous medical care in recent weeks. His family remains positive about his recovery and has requested fans to keep him in their prayers.
