Disney+ has launched a new feature called Verts, which presents content in a vertical, swipe-based format to help users discover movies and shows through short clips.
The company said the feature offers a new way to explore stories on Disney+ through a dynamic feed designed for quick and engaging browsing.
The feature can be accessed through the Verts icon in the navigation bar of the Disney+ mobile app. Once opened, users can scroll vertically through scenes and highlights from movies and shows available on the platform.
While viewing the clips, users can add titles directly to their Watchlist or start watching them instantly.
Disney said early testing of the feature has already led to higher user engagement on the platform. The improvement is partly due to a recommendation system that personalizes the feed based on each user’s viewing preferences.
The company also said Verts is only the first step in its plans for vertical video content. In the future, the feature may expand to include content from creators within Disney’s fan communities, along with new storytelling formats and more personalized viewing experiences.
