The District Education Authority (DEA) has issued a fresh directive to strengthen attendance monitoring, punctuality, and administrative oversight in public schools.
According to the official notification, all government schools are now required to take a daily group photograph of teaching and non-teaching staff at 8:45 AM. The initiative aims to ensure that staff members are present during official school hours and to enhance transparency in attendance reporting.
Schools have been instructed to use the Canva camera app to capture the group photo and attach it to the attendance register. Furthermore, each school must compile the daily photographs into a single PDF file and send it via WhatsApp by 9:30 AM.
The directive makes headteachers directly responsible for submitting daily attendance reports of both teaching and non-teaching staff to the concerned authorities.
The DEA has warned that strict disciplinary action will be taken against school heads who fail to comply with the new instructions.
