$65 billion Plan Set by China to Connect Western China to Gwadar
Pakistan’s port city, Gwadar, is an integral part of the multibillion-dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a $65 billion investment plan designed to connect western China to Gwadar, Pakistan’s southern port.

COAS General Bajwa was pleased with the rate of work on the CPEC projects, stating that the project has entered its second phase following the successful completion of the first phase, which covered the country’s energy and communication infrastructure gaps.

According to a Pakistani source, Pakistan’s strategically important Gawadar port, which is being expanded as part of the CPEC, is being connected to the rest of the country via upgraded road infrastructure in order to promote the national economy and enhance regional connectivity and trade.
