Tremors from an earthquake measuring 5.3 in magnitude were felt in numerous locations across Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Details that emerged on Tuesday indicated that the epicentre was 234 kilometers deep and situated in Afghanistan’s Hindu Kush region.
Rawalpindi, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Peshawar, Swat, Dir, Malakand, Chitral, Lundi Kotal, Shangla, Gharzi, Charsadda, Battagram, Haripur, and the neighboring districts reportedly felt the earthquakes.
According to preliminary data, the seismic center is determining the magnitude and epicentre. There have been no reports of damage or casualties thus far.
Because of the possibility of aftershocks, rescue officials urged locals to take precautions and stay in secure areas.
