ECC Approves 20bn Grant for Procurement of Covid-19 Vaccines
Islamabad: In June, the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) approved a Rs 20 billion technical extra grant for the purchase of 10 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.
The demand for additional money will be evaluated during the upcoming fiscal year (FY22), according to the finance ministry, and additional funds will be allocated in accordance.

The Ministry of National Health Services and provincial health ministries will be in charge of administering the vaccine.
It is important to note that Pakistan will probably get consignments of more than five million doses of various Covid vaccinations in June.

More than 3.5 million doses of vaccines from Sinovac, Sinopharm, and CanSino are likely to arrive in the country in the first 10 days of June, while two consignments of Covid-19 vaccines from Oxford AstraZeneca and Pfizer may also be provided under COVAX.
The government has also made the decision to purchase 1,000,000 doses of the coronavirus mRNA vaccine from Pfizer-BioNTech.
Immuno-compromised individuals and those under 40 who are traveling overseas will receive the Pfizer vaccine.
A million doses of the Pfizer vaccine will reportedly be delivered to Pakistan in July or August, and 23 ultra-cold chain freezers have been bought to keep the vaccine.
