ECC Approves Monthly Stipend for Ehsaas Kifalat Beneficiaries
The Finance Minister chairs the meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC). Shaukat Tarin, federal minister for finance and revenue, presided over the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet meeting at the Cabinet Division.

ECC approved the Poverty Alleviation & Social Safety Division’s request regarding the Indexation Policy for Cash Transfer and permitted BISP to adopt the institutional mechanism for periodic update of regular cash transfer benefits to Ehsaas Kafalat Beneficiaries of the Benazir Income Support Program.
Due to indexation, the beneficiaries would receive an additional 166 rupees per month. The mechanism will consist of a Committee led by the Secretary of the Finance Division.
ECC approved the increase of the monthly Ehsaas Kifalat stipend to Rs. 166 per beneficiary, effective 1st January 2022.
ECC also approved the Ministry of Housing and Works’ additional funding request of Rs. 75 million for three development schemes. A Technical Supplementary Grant in the amount of Rs. 43 million was also approved for the Ministry of Housing and Works.

In its meeting, the ECC approved the Information and Broadcasting Division’s reappropriation of Rs. 17,633 million in PSDP funds through Technical Supplementary Grant. The Interior Ministry’s request for a Rs. 30 million Technical Supplementary Grant was also approved.
