Ehsaas Launches Education Stipends Programme
Islamabad: In an effort to reduce dropouts and bring out-of-school children back to school, Ehsaas has started a special stipends program for the underprivileged who are enrolled as social security system beneficiaries.

According to Ehsaas, there are already 18.7 million unschooled children in the country, and the stipends program will exclusively target these children.
A second MoU was also signed between Ehsaas and National Commission for Human Development (NCHD), an education ministry subsidiary, to encourage eligible families to enroll their children in Ehsaas Education Stipends.
The stipends program has been established primarily to eliminate duplications; reduce inequities in primary through higher secondary education possibilities by increasing school attendance, enrollment, and progression among out-of-school children, especially girls.

Ehsaas is also forging memorandums of understanding with provincial ministries of secondary education and higher education/colleges to identify and provide education stipends to qualified households.
