ISLAMABAD: Sources within Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) revealed on Wednesday that eight players are expected to withdraw from the ongoing Pakistan tour.
According to details, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) remains in contact with both the Sri Lankan players and officials. However, it is yet to be decided whether the series will be postponed.
Earlier reports indicated that players who abandon the tour midway could face a two-year ban, as per SLC sources.
Meanwhile, the Sri Lankan team had sought permission to return home after expressing concerns over security. In response, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with the Sri Lankan High Commissioner and the team manager, assuring them of foolproof security arrangements for the remainder of the tour.
