Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company, xAI, is teaming up with Telegram to bring its AI chatbot, Grok, to over one billion users on the messaging app.
As part of the deal, xAI will invest $300 million in cash and stock. The goal is to add Grok directly into the Telegram app, giving more people easy access to the chatbot.
Telegram Will Share in the Profits
Telegram’s founder, Pavel Durov, said the deal will last one year and includes a revenue-sharing agreement. Telegram will receive 50% of the money made from Grok subscriptions inside the app.

Durov also said that xAI will only see what users type into Grok. It won’t collect any other data, so users’ personal information will stay safe.
Why This Deal Matters
Many AI companies are trying to improve their technology by using data from real conversations. Since other data sources are already widely used, they now look at social media and messaging platforms.
It’s not clear yet if xAI will use Telegram chats to train its AI, but xAI’s other platform, X (formerly Twitter), already uses public posts to improve its AI tools.
This deal is part of xAI’s plan to grow quickly in the AI industry by teaming up with big tech platforms.
Right now, xAI and Telegram haven’t shared more details, but this partnership could make Grok one of the most widely used chatbots in the world.
