Energy Relief Package Increases Industrial Power Consumption by 15%

In comparison to March 2019, the industrial electricity usage in March 2021 has grown by 15% year over year.

Hammad Azhar, the energy minister, made this announcement on his Twitter account.

This demonstrates that the government’s energy assistance programme has increased industrial electricity use.

According to Azhar, “the Industrial Energy Package’s success may be gauged by the fact that there is a 15% growth in industrial electricity consumption in March of current year compared to March of 2019 (not simply 2020 as the COVID-19 had low base effect)”.

He added that at peak hours, the registered increase is 38%.
