For the moon to be visible, two conditions must be met:
- It should be at least 18 hours old at sunset.
- There should be a 40-minute gap between sunset and moonset.
According to Mufti, these conditions will be met in various parts of Pakistan.
Final Decision by Ruet-e-Hilal Committee
While the research council has predicted the sighting, the final announcement will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee. The committee, led by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, will hold a meeting on March 30 to confirm the moon sighting.
