Explosion at Nushki Truck Terminal Injures Over 40, Many Badly Burned

Nushki, Balochistan – A major explosion rocked the Nushki district after an oil-filled truck caught fire near a truck terminal, resulting in injuries to more than 40 people. The incident occurred while efforts were being made to control a fire that had broken out in the tanker’s tank. According to rescue sources, several individuals suffered severe burn injuries and were immediately shifted to nearby hospitals for emergency medical treatment.

Hospital officials reported that after receiving initial medical aid, the critically injured patients would be transferred to Quetta for further treatment. In an alarming development, a fire brigade vehicle also caught fire while attempting to extinguish the blaze, leading to serious injuries among fire brigade personnel due to their close proximity to the explosion.

Additionally, four police officers who were on duty to evacuate civilians from the area sustained burn injuries. Rescue teams noted that many individuals near the oil tanker sustained burns covering 70 to 80 percent of their bodies, making their condition extremely critical. The district administration has confirmed that arrangements have been made to airlift the severely injured victims to Quetta via helicopter for advanced medical care.

The tragic explosion in Nushki has raised concerns about fire safety measures at fuel transport and storage sites. Authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the fire and subsequent explosion, as efforts continue to treat and support the injured.
