After almost five years, Facebook is bringing back job listings, marking Meta’s renewed push into the employment space. The platform has reintroduced job posts, now focused mainly on local, service-based, and trade jobs to help small businesses and communities connect more easily.
Meta announced that job listings are now available through Facebook Marketplace, with plans to also display them in relevant community groups. Businesses can post openings directly on their Facebook Pages, allowing local employers to reach job seekers quickly and efficiently.
The feature is currently limited to users aged 18 and older and serves as a digital version of a “Help Wanted” sign. Early listings in cities like Seattle show restaurants, salons, and other small businesses already using the tool for casual and local hiring.
Meta has set clear restrictions and policies for job posts. All listings must follow Facebook’s Community Standards, meaning no ads for adult services, drug-related work, or in-person childcare. The company has also emphasized compliance with fair employment and anti-discrimination laws after previous controversies involving job ads that excluded certain demographics.
Facebook first introduced job listings in 2017, expanding globally before scaling back to the US and Canada. The feature was completely removed in 2023. However, many small businesses continued using paid ads to promote jobs, often leading to unregulated or biased targeting. The re-launch aims to fix these issues by creating a safer, more transparent hiring process.
Meta’s decision to revive the feature reflects its strategy to make Facebook more useful for local communities. While platforms like LinkedIn focus on corporate roles, Facebook’s new jobs section aims to serve neighborhood employers and workers in trades and services, an area still largely untapped.
Currently, the feature is available only to users in the United States. Meta has not confirmed when or if it will expand globally. For now, Facebook users in the US can browse and apply for jobs directly through Marketplace, Groups, or business pages, as the platform once again becomes a local hub for employment and hiring.
