Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue, Rashid Mahmood Langrial, has announced the formation of a committee to review concerns raised by tax bar associations, especially regarding Super Tax recovery and sales tax return filing under SRO 350(I)/2024.
The announcement was made during a meeting at FBR Headquarters with representatives from the Pakistan Tax Bar Association, Lahore Tax Bar Association, Karachi Tax Bar Association, and Rawalpindi–Islamabad Tax Bar Association.
Members of the tax bars highlighted challenges faced by taxpayers, particularly issues related to Super Tax and sales tax return filing under SRO 350(I)/2024, dated March 7, 2024.
Chairman Langrial assured participants that the FBR is committed to facilitating taxpayers and addressing genuine concerns on a priority basis. He said the newly formed committee will carefully examine the issues raised and propose practical solutions for quick resolution.
The meeting was also attended by senior FBR officials, including Member (IR Operations), Member (IR Policy), and Member (IR Legal), who took part in detailed discussions.
The chairman appreciated the constructive and consultative role of the tax bar associations. He noted that their deep knowledge of Pakistan’s taxation system is valuable for improving policies, refining procedures, and promoting voluntary tax compliance.
Several prominent representatives attended the meeting, including Rana Munir Hussain, Sheikh Ahsan-ul-Haq, Muhammad Asif Rana, Chaudhary Qamar-uz-Zaman, Sheikh Muhammad Yasin, Tahir Mahmood Butt, Mian Asad Hanif, Faraz Fazal Sheikh, and Muhammad Mahmood Bikiya.
