Despite a projected collection of Rs. 50 billion for the fiscal year 2024–25, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has not yet received any money from registered traders enrolled under the Tajir Dost Scheme.

85,000 dealers who have signed up for the Tajir Dost Scheme are expected to pay FBR the first installment by August 15, 2024.
According to a trader’s representative, the new program’s top objective right now is to register more small business owners and traders around the country.

As a result, the FBR has started notifying dealers in its attempts to enforce tax laws. However, the spokesperson emphasized that a countrywide awareness campaign is the only way to successfully address tax compliance.
The FBR promised the business community that a basic income tax return form for registered traders in Urdu would be released this week, he continued.
