In all of the nation’s major cities, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has begun a recovery campaign against tax evaders.
According to sources, the decision to pursue unpaid debts against tax defaulters as part of the FBR’s enforcement initiative has been made at the highest level.
In order to start recovery actions under the pertinent legal requirements, the FBR has created a list of roughly 11,000 tax defaulters and given the names to the relevant tax jurisdictions and field offices.

In the cities of Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, and Multan, tax defaulters include proprietors of industrial facilities, factories and mills, wholesalers, real estate agents, and traders.
Before adopting drastic measures like arresting tax defaulters, the FBR will finish all necessary legal procedures, and the tax defaulters will have a chance to respond to the notices that have been delivered to them.

Super-rich people who refused to pay the Capital Value Tax (CVT) of Rs. 3 billion on their foreign assets kept overseas have already been the target of collection procedures by the FBR. The Board has taken coercive action against those who didn’t pay CVT on their foreign assets. After they ignored numerous reminders, the FBR issued orders against 200 of these individuals.
