The Directorate General of Customs Valuation in Karachi has issued new customs values for the import of LED bulbs, LED tube lights, and related parts from China, aiming to ensure more accurate assessment of duties and taxes.

The updated values have been notified through two separate valuation rulings, following requests from importers who sought alignment with current international price trends.

Officials said the revision was based on a detailed analysis conducted under the Customs Act, 1969. The process included reviewing import data, declared and assessed values, and prevailing market prices.

A dedicated meeting was also held with stakeholders, where importers presented their concerns and submitted supporting documents. Authorities then examined 90 days of import data and carried out market surveys in line with legal requirements.

After evaluating multiple valuation methods, the Directorate finalized the new customs values under Section 25(7) of the Customs Act. The updated rates have been formalized through Valuation Ruling No. 2025 of 2026.

Officials said the revised framework will help ensure transparency and consistency in import assessments, while reflecting actual market conditions for LED lighting products.
