FBR Updates Import Duties on Mobile Phone Screens from China & Hong Kong

The Directorate General of Customs Valuation, Karachi, has issued a new Valuation Ruling No. 1979 of 2025, revising customs values for mobile phone LCD screens imported from China and Hong Kong.

What’s Changed?

The new ruling replaces Valuation Ruling No. 1576/2021, which had been in effect since December 8, 2021. This revision comes after a detailed market analysis, an import data review, and an assessment of price trends over the last 90 days.

Why the Revision?

The customs department aims to ensure fair valuation for duty and tax assessments. They considered market trends and declared values to keep the pricing transparent and aligned with the current market.

Stakeholders’ Input

A stakeholder meeting was held under Sections 25 and 25A of the Customs Act, 1969. Importers and industry representatives shared their views and submitted documents to support their claims. After careful review, authorities finalized the new transaction values.

What Importers Need to Know

The updated customs values will now apply to all imports of mobile phone LCD screens. Importers and businesses must stay updated to ensure compliance with trade regulations.
