Feasibility Study for Lal Sohanra Safari Train Service

The South Punjab Administration has announced that a feasibility study for a safari train service between Bahawalpur railway station and Lal Sohanra railway station for tourists and visitors to Lal Sohanra National Park is now ongoing.

The proposed railway route and track up to the abandoned Baghdaul Jadid railway station near the Sammsatta-Bahawalnagar railway station were inspected in conjunction with Pakistan Railways Secretary Habib Gilani, according to South Punjab Additional Chief Secretary Saqib Zafar.

The administration divulged the specifics of the train service, indicating that weekly or biweekly service will be initiated to enhance tourism and attract passengers. Additional services, like coaches, would be offered to facilitate tourists’ road journeys to Lal Sohanra Park.

Additionally, Deputy Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathiya was tasked with auctioning off the project to turn the Baghdadul Jadid train station into a fast-food restaurant.
