Federal Govt Allocates RS 202bn for KP Development Program
The federal government has allotted Rs 148.26 billion for 111 development projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) as part of its 2021-22 (FY22) development agenda.

The government has approved more than Rs 202.26 billion out of the overall Rs 900 billion Public Sector Development Program (PSDP), which represents 22.4% of the total programme.
Under PSDP FY22, Rs1.90 billion will be allocated for the fourth extension of the Tarbela hydropower project and Rs8.15 billion will be allocated for the fifth expansion project. Rs1.86 billion will be allocated for the repair of the 242 MW Warsak hydroelectric power station.
In addition, Rs 39 million has been allocated for construction at Chitral Airport, Rs 1 billion for the construction of Garm Chashma Road, Rs 513 million for the Expo Center in Peshawar, Rs 8 billion for the construction of a motorway from Hakla to DI Khan, Rs 940 million for the construction of a road from Peshawar to Dara Adamkhel, Rs 4 billion for the rehabilitation of Bannu Road, and Rs 8.54 billion for the Khyber Pass economic corridor.

According to planning department sources, even though the federal government has included these projects in the PSDP for the upcoming fiscal year, the cost will skyrocket due to a shortage of funding.
According to the officials, the PSDP comprises initiatives that have been included in PSDPs for many years.
