Federal Insurance Ombudsman Gives Rs 2.13 Billion
Islamabad: In 2020, the Federal Insurance Ombudsman (FIO) would give Rs. 2.13 billion in financial compensation to the unhappy policyholders.

In a meeting held at Aiwan-e-Sadr, FIO Dr. Muhammad Khawar Jameel emphasized this while presenting the FIO annual report to President Arif Alvi.
President Alvi instructed the FIO to ensure the preservation of insurance policyholder interests and to swiftly deliver justice to them in cases of insurance industry mismanagement.
The FIO claimed that despite the pandemic, his offices continued to protect policyholders’ rights by handling 2,183 complaints and giving Rs 2.13 billion in monetary relief to the wronged beneficiaries.

Alvi praised the FIO’s accomplishments and gave him the advice to raise awareness of the FIO’s function in delivering timely and free justice to injured insurance policy holders against the wrongdoing of insurance corporations.
He instructed the FIO to expand the insurance ombudsman’s reach so that the greatest number of consumers may utilise its services.
The FIO requested that the regional office in Quetta be opened during the first week of May, and the president granted their request.
