According to a recent development, the issue surrounding the purportedly unlawful plot distribution within the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has seen substantial advancements in the Federal Inquiry Agency’s (FIA) inquiry.
Officers from the CDA’s Land Office are among the 12 people against whom the FIA has officially filed a case after carefully crafting its investigation.
According to FIA sources, Aftab Saleem, the Assistant Director of CDA, Patwari Rashid, and Abid have all been detained concerning the matter. To further highlight the gravity of the claims, the Land and Revenue officials’ inquiry included top officers named in the FIR. The FIR also names the State member and Director of Land CDA as nominees.

Sources claim that the FIA launched and sealed the case with a formal complaint. Together with filing the FIR, the FIA will appear in court with the accused. Arrests were not possible because of bail for other accused parties.
Retired Captain Anwar ul Haq, the Chairman of CDA, recently expressed his concerns to the FIA and asked them to get the investigation along quickly. The Chairman asked for the repatriation of the CDA’s records in his letter and acknowledged the difficulties faced by customers. The FIA retorted, highlighting their resolve to carry out the investigation according to the prescribed procedure, but the records could not be returned.
The incident made headlines in October, and Chairman CDA ordered the FIA to launch a comprehensive investigation. The Land Department turned over almost 1,500 files for examination to the FIA, which has been actively looking into the case for the last three months.
