ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has been asked by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to provide a thorough record of an agreement that the CDA and the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) reached in 2007.

In exchange for more than 700 developed plots, a sizeable amount of land had to be given to DHA under this deal.

According to the specifics, the FIA’s investigation occurs 16 years after the deal was established, and the CDA has not yet received the plots that the DHA pledged to provide.

The FIA launched an investigation earlier this year in an effort to learn more specifics regarding the deal.

The CDA received a follow-up letter from the FIA’s Corporate Crime Circle on August 18 requesting the civic organisation to submit the necessary information.

In the letter, it was emphasised that the agreement, which was reached in September 2007, featured retired Brig Asad Munir, who was then a CDA member, and retired Brig Zafar Iqbal Shah, who was the director of land at DHA.

The FIA asked for a number of papers, including the agreement’s original and attested copies, the whole file with an attested copy of the board decision, the deal’s legal specifics, and the current state of the 2400 Kanal State land that was mentioned in the agreement.

The FIA also asked the CDA for clarity regarding the promised plots from DHA in accordance with the contract.

The CDA organized a team of four people last year to visit the DHA, examine the situation, and put together a report.

During the visit, personnel from a private company connected to DHA were present, despite the absence of DHA officials.

The visiting crew also looked about potential locations for the promised plots.

A CDA director acknowledged receiving the FIA letter in answer to questions and said the organisation had already supplied pertinent material in response to an earlier letter from the FIA.

The director gave the FIA his word that they would receive the whole case file in accordance with their request.
