Final Report of Land Acquisition for RRR Submitted for Approval
The land acquisition committee of the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) project, District Price Assessment Committee (DPAC), has submitted its final report for the purchase of land in 28 villages along the projected route, according to news reports.
The Punjab Board of Revenue (BoR) will provide final clearance to the land acquisition budget at its next meeting. The government has reportedly already enacted Section 4 of the Land Acquisition Act of 1894 to assist the land acquisition. The land will be purchased at the cost of PKR 100,000 to 800,000 per Kanal, as proposed by the DPAC. In contrast, the finance department will approve the land acquisition budget.
In addition, officials reported that the government had recovered fifty percent of the land acquisition payments that were canceled owing to charges of theft. However, the remaining half will be recovered shortly. During a visit to the proposed ring road location, Rawalpindi Commissioner Syed Gulzar Hussain Shah authorized Nespak to develop Project Concept-1 (PC-1) for the Ring Road’s merging with the highway at Thalian Interchange.

National Highway and Motorway Administration will study and approve the final proposal (NHA). The Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) project is one of the city’s noteworthy megaprojects. The 38-kilometer route will link Rawat and Murat, diverting traffic away from the city center. The project is being initiated as part of the Provincial Government’s Annual Development Programme (ADP), which will be funded.
