First Shipment from HK Sun Corporation Cleared for Gwadar
Islamabad: According to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Pakistan Customs have authorized the first import/export shipment for the Gwadar Free Zone.

The aforementioned consignment is being sent by the HK Sun Company Ltd. and is made up of scrap metal. As part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the consignment will be processed in the Gwadar Free Zone before being transported from Pakistan.
The first business to start manufacturing and processing in the free zone is the HK Solar Corporation. The same corporation is sending other shipments of raw materials to Pakistan, where they will be utilized to create the products that will be exported.

The Gwadar Free Zone is now operational, according to the FBR, and the growth of other economic zones under the CPEC umbrella will be facilitated by the import of the consignment.
The FBR also stated that the free zone will improve the industrial ties between China and Pakistan and referred to the zone as Gwadar’s economic development engine with the goal of transforming the city into an important center for global trade logistics.
