Forces kill 12 terrorists linked to India in KP, Balochistan

RAWALPINDI – Security forces killed 12 Indian-backed terrorists in separate operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan on Monday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced.

In KP, nine terrorists linked to the Indian proxy group Fitna Al Khwarij were neutralized in operations in Lakki Marwat, Bannu, and North Waziristan. An intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Lakki Marwat resulted in the killing of five terrorists, while two others were killed in Bannu. In North Waziristan, two terrorists ambushed a security convoy but were killed in retaliation. During this clash, two Pakistani soldiers, Sepoy Farhad Ali Turi and Lance Naik Sabir Afridi, embraced martyrdom.

In Balochistan, three terrorists associated with the Baloch Liberation Front were killed in two separate engagements in Awaran and Turbat. The operation in Awaran killed one terrorist and injured two others. The Turbat operation eliminated two terrorists, including the group’s ringleader. Weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the slain militants.

Sanitization operations are ongoing to clear remaining threats. The ISPR reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to eliminating terrorism fueled by foreign proxies.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for their successful operations and vowed to continue efforts to eradicate terrorism from the country.
