Former Pakistan Test cricketer Fawad Alam is venturing into music, releasing a new track aimed at rallying support for the national team ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.

Titled “Cricket Junoon Bolay”, the song is designed to energize both players and fans as Pakistan gears up for the tournament. Fawad has shared a teaser and confirmed that the full release will be available on February 5.

The lyrics and composition were created by Wajid Saeed, while the music video is directed by Mohsin Talat. Speaking about the project, Fawad said the song is meant to generate excitement and morale around Pakistan’s World Cup campaign.

Fawad Alam has represented Pakistan in 19 Tests, 38 ODIs, and 24 T20Is, and was part of the squad that won the ICC T20 World Cup in 2009. He describes this new release as a personal tribute to a tournament that holds special significance in his cricketing career.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan team has arrived in Sri Lanka for the tournament and is taking a two-day break before resuming training. The team will play a warm-up match against Ireland on February 4 as part of their final preparations.

The ICC T20 World Cup begins on February 7, with Pakistan opening its campaign against the Netherlands. The team will then face the United States on February 10 and Namibia on February 18. Pakistan will not play the scheduled group match against India on February 15, following the government’s directive.
