Former Pakistan international cricketer Imad Wasim has confirmed that he has remarried, following his earlier announcement of divorce from Sania Ashfaq, which ended their six-year marriage.
In a personal statement, the all-rounder spoke about the breakdown of his previous relationship, acknowledging past regrets and describing his children as the most important part of his life. He said the marriage formally ended in late December 2025 after years of unresolved differences.
Imad also responded to criticism directed at his former wife during their separation. He stated that he takes responsibility for aspects that led to the matter becoming public and urged supporters and the media to respect the privacy of both families.
He has now tied the knot with Nyla Raja, a lawyer and social media personality. According to Imad, the decision was made after careful thought and consultation with his parents, with the aim of building a stable and peaceful future. Short video clips circulating on social media appear to show the couple celebrating at a private cake-cutting ceremony, prompting mixed reactions online.
The cricketer once again appealed for privacy, emphasizing that personal matters involving families and children should not be turned into a public spectacle.
The divorce was first announced in December through separate statements from both parties. At the time, Imad said he had filed for separation due to longstanding disputes that could not be resolved. He requested the public to avoid sharing old photos of the couple or referring to Ashfaq as his spouse and warned that legal action could be taken against defamatory claims.
The former couple shares three children. Imad has maintained that he will continue to fulfil his responsibilities as a father despite the separation.
Sania Ashfaq had earlier said she spoke publicly not out of revenge but to stand up for herself and her children, adding that the matter remained legally contested and would be settled through proper legal proceedings.
The development has sparked widespread discussion on social media, with reactions ranging from congratulatory messages to renewed debate over the highly publicized split.
