Four policemen were injured late Sunday night when unknown gunmen opened fire on a police vehicle at the Gattidas check post in Naran.
According to officials, the attackers were hiding in the surrounding mountains and targeted the vehicle during a routine patrol. An exchange of fire followed, leaving four officers wounded.
Rescue teams from the Kaghan Development Authority reached the site and moved the injured to Naran Hospital in Rescue 1122 ambulances. They were later transferred to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital, Mansehra, for further treatment.
Soon after the incident, additional police forces arrived and began a large-scale search operation. Authorities said Chilas police have also joined the efforts to track down those responsible.
