Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore has directed concerned authorities to immediately activate the Health Card facility across the region to ensure better healthcare access for the public.
Chairing a high-level meeting in Muzaffarabad, the prime minister said the Health Card scheme is an important step to improve medical services, especially for poor and middle-class families. He said the initiative will help people receive treatment without worrying about heavy medical expenses.
Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore said rising healthcare costs have become a major challenge for many families, and the Health Card will reduce this financial pressure. He added that the government wants every citizen of AJK to have access to quality medical treatment in a respectful and affordable manner.

The prime minister emphasized that the scheme is meant to ensure equal healthcare opportunities for all segments of society. He directed relevant departments to complete all administrative and technical arrangements without delay so that the Health Card services can be launched as soon as possible.
He further stated that public welfare initiatives like the Health Card scheme are among the government’s top priorities, as they directly benefit common people and strengthen the overall healthcare system.
Officials were informed during the meeting that similar health card programs implemented in other parts of the country have delivered positive results by lowering treatment costs and improving access to hospitals and medical facilities.
